the early 1900’s the locals from Berkeley
and other surrounding areas used Albany
California as a dumping ground for trash.
History tells us that a few local women became
tired of this and armed themselves with weapons
to chase off the garbage dumpers. It was not long
after that the local community decided to incorporate
as what was then called Ocean View. Albany
is close to the top ten cities in America for
cultural diversity with the local population consisting
of Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic and African American
people. The diversity, close proximity to the
San Francisco Bay Area and its
moderate climate make Albany Real Estate
desirable. It also is very well known
for its highly ranked public schools. Albany
high school is rated as one of the best
public high schools in the Bay Area
for academic achievement with over 95% of its
graduates going to college.

Stroll where an estimated 100,000
people stroll, eat and drink in the street with
many different vendors selling various items and
live bands playing music.
