Concord Real Estate

Bay Area Real Estate

Concord became home to settlers in Northern California during the mid 1800’s and was named after a gentleman named Todos Santos who is still remembered today with the Todos Santos Plaza where many shops, restaurants and free concerts draw crowds from all over the Bay Area. Concord in these days was a large agricultural area where many farmers made a living and provided the growing Bay Area population with food items and other goods. Concord is also known for the naval weapons station which is known as “Port Chicago” to some. Port Chicago is well known for the very large explosion that happened toward the end of World War II when a large vessel packed with weapons and explosives blew up damaging buildings all over the Bay Area including San Francisco. There were several hundred soldiers that were instantly killed.

Concord is known as primarily a suburban community with many of the homes dating back to before World War II. There have been some larger corporations that have moved here and are still conducting business here today such as Chevron Corporation and Bank of America. Concord is home to the famous Concord Jazz Festival that takes place here annually and attracts Jazz musicians and lovers from all over the Bay Area and beyond. Concord is a relatively quiet place to live and is pretty easy to get around the Bay Area with the Bart train having a direct line running through and interstates 680,24 and 242 close by.

There are many car dealerships in concord providing just about every make and model one can think of. Concord is home to the De La Salle High School where the school is very well known for their sports programs and their football team that was won several national championships. Concord is home to Actor Tom Hanks and jazz musician Dave Brubeck.
