El Sobrante Real Estate
El Sobrante is a small quiet
town located South of Orinda and North of the
San Pablo Bay. The Oakland hills are located
just west through the Caldecott tunnel along
with the Montclair district close by just off
highway 13. El Sobrante is an unincorporated
town that almost feels like a quaint farming
community in the Midwest. It
is the type of place where one could envision
everyone knowing each other and people don’t
lock their front doors. It is this type of living and more affordable home prices for many that makes El Sobrante Real Estate valuable. This town feels different from anything else regarding Bay Area Real Estate. There is a uniqeness about the area and the local community who live there. (Don't forget to check out these neighboring cities. Orinda Real Estate, El Cerrito Real Estate, Richmond Real Estate, Pinole Real Estate, Oakland Real Estate.)
Bay Area Real Estate
The community residents in El Sobrante are among
the friendliest people in the San Francisco
Bay Area with much of the area accommodating
retirees and families raising their children.
The El Sobrante hills offer wonderful views
of the San Francisco Bay And San Francisco.
Closer to Orinda, many of the homes nestled
up in the hills offer serene and lush surroundings
with views of woods and rolling hills. El Sobrante
is very close to San Pablo Dam Reservoir and
Tilden park where many enjoy outdoor activities
such as bicycle riding, hiking, fishing, boating
or just having a picnic on a nice day.
San Pablo
Dam Road runs all the way through downtown connecting
the Southern end to interstate 880 and the Northern
end to highway 24 and the Orinda Bart Station.
The downtown strip in El Sobrante is unlike
any other with a very distinct small town feel
and nonchalant approach. The famous Ed’s
Bar , located on San Pablo Dam Road, doesn’t
look or feel like it has changed from the time
it opened long ago with its modern day version
of a western saloon.
The real estate in El Sobrante
is still fairly reasonable for the Bay Area
and is an attraction for many first time buyers.
El Sobrante is also home to the Bay Area band
Primus and is home the Kirk Hammett of Metallica,
(also from the Bay Area) and John Kiffmeyer
of Green Day. (Stage name Al Sobrante) El Sobrante
is a great place to live with its moderate temperatures
but warmer weather than some other Bay Area
places. With only just over 14,000 people who
live there, it is just what some, who enjoy
a smaller community, are looking for. Contact
